Job Description

Locum 4 Nurses is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support urgent on‑the‑day appointments for a GP practice in Camberley.

Role summary

This position is centred on safe, efficient same‑day consultations and high‑quality documentation within a busy GP practice setting.

Main duties in a GP practice

  • See acute presentations across all ages within agreed scope (e.g., URTI, UTI, skin conditions, MSK, minor injuries).
  • Undertake history taking, examination, diagnosis and treatment planning, including safety‑netting and follow‑up.
  • Request appropriate tests and interpret results within competence, documenting clear clinical reasoning.
  • Use local referral pathways (e.g., community services, urgent treatment centres) where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the duty GP for escalation and shared decision‑making on complex cases.

Working pattern

2 days per week (ideal for clinicians wanting flexible locum sessions).

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care.
  • Strong autonomous triage and consultation skills with safe risk management.
  • Confident in patient education and safety‑netting.
  • Up‑to‑date mandatory training and vaccination status as required by GP practices.

Systems & ways of working

  • EMIS Web or SystmOne familiarity (desirable).
  • Ability to code accurately and follow practice protocols/PGDs.
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team with clear handovers.
