Locum4Nurses is looking for Locum General Practitioners in Sandy.
About the role
You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking practice environment where calm clinical judgement and reliable cover make a real difference. You’ll be trusted to manage your own clinics while staying aligned with local protocols and governance expectations. You’ll balance clinical efficiency with a warm, reassuring patient experience, keeping care safe and well documented.
Responsibilities
Your clinics will involve a mix of assessment, treatment planning and follow‑up, with a focus on doing the basics exceptionally well.
- Manage minor illness, urgent presentations and ongoing care plans.
- Support chronic disease reviews and health promotion.
- Work within prescribing and safeguarding standards.
- Deliver face‑to‑face and remote consultations.
- Coordinate with reception and clinicians to keep clinics running on time.
- Complete structured assessments and triage where appropriate.
You will follow local pathways and document decisions so the team has a clear clinical narrative.
Requirements
We’re looking for clinicians with strong primary care background who can deliver safe clinics and communicate effectively.
- Active NMC registration and right to work in the UK.
- Recent primary care experience in a similar role.
- Excellent written notes, coding and communication.
- Confidence working independently and escalating appropriately.
- A strong understanding of clinical governance and infection prevention.
- Experience with long‑term condition management and health checks.
You’ll understand the importance of coding, quality indicators and consistent clinical standards.
