Locum4Nurses is looking for Locum Healthcare Assistants in Royston.
About the role
This assignment is ideal for clinicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and a clear standard of care within general practice. The day-to-day is clinically varied, with opportunities to use assessment skills, long‑term condition management and acute presentations. Your role is to provide dependable cover while supporting the practice’s approach to evidence‑based care.
Responsibilities
The practice expects strong clinical organisation, accurate records, and sensible escalation when needed.
- Maintain high‑quality clinical notes and coding.
- Complete structured assessments and triage where appropriate.
- Work within prescribing and safeguarding standards.
- Support chronic disease reviews and health promotion.
- Coordinate with reception and clinicians to keep clinics running on time.
- Deliver face‑to‑face and remote consultations.
Where appropriate, you’ll coordinate with the wider team for referrals, tests, and onward care.
Requirements
We’re looking for clinicians with strong primary care background who can deliver safe clinics and communicate effectively.
- Confidence working independently and escalating appropriately.
- Evidence of up‑to‑date mandatory training and immunisations.
- Active NMC registration and right to work in the UK.
- Excellent written notes, coding and communication.
- A patient‑focused approach with calm professionalism under pressure.
- Recent primary care experience in a similar role.
You’ll be comfortable using digital tools for notes, tasks and follow‑ups, keeping everything audit‑ready.
