Job Description
Locum4Nurses is looking for Locum Healthcare Assistants in Purfleet-on-thames.
About the role
You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking practice environment where calm clinical judgement and reliable cover make a real difference. The day-to-day is clinically varied, with opportunities to use assessment skills, long‑term condition management and acute presentations. The assignment suits someone who can prioritise quickly, communicate clearly, and maintain quality in every consultation.
Responsibilities
You’ll contribute to day‑to‑day access by running booked clinics and helping the team manage demand safely.
- Coordinate with reception and clinicians to keep clinics running on time.
- Manage minor illness, urgent presentations and ongoing care plans.
- Complete structured assessments and triage where appropriate.
- Deliver face‑to‑face and remote consultations.
- Support chronic disease reviews and health promotion.
- Work within prescribing and safeguarding standards.
You will follow local pathways and document decisions so the team has a clear clinical narrative.
Requirements
We’re looking for clinicians with strong primary care background who can deliver safe clinics and communicate effectively.
- A strong understanding of clinical governance and infection prevention.
- Recent primary care experience in a similar role.
- Active NMC registration and right to work in the UK.
- Excellent written notes, coding and communication.
- Confidence working independently and escalating appropriately.
- Evidence of up‑to‑date mandatory training and immunisations.
You’ll approach every patient interaction with professionalism, empathy and clear safety‑netting.
